the works Are you looking for work, training or financial advice? The Works is a one-stop-shop supporting local people to find jobs, develop skills and access training courses and financial advice.

If you’re unemployed or looking for work or want to boost your skills to help you find employment then the free services available at The Works may be just what you need. The centre offers people the opportunity to receive help and support accessing jobs and skills through Corridor Manchester and other partners, such as MMU, The University of Manchester, NHS, the Co-operative, Royal Mail, the Post Office, Asda and Construction Skills Solutions.

The centre will also link into the Manchester Employer Suite, which is recruiting for high volume vacancies with employers such as RBS and British Gas. Aspire, Next Step, Connexions and MAES will also be delivering services there alongside The Manchester Credit Union.

The Works is a partnership between City South Manchester Housing Trust, Corridor Manchester, Manchester Credit Union, Next Step, Standguide and Work Solutions.

If you are, you could do worse than checking out Blue Orchid recruitment.  They have a number of vacancies through their Get Into Housing programme.  The vacancies are varied and updated regularly by the landlords involved in the programme.

Once registered on the programme, Blue Orchid can provide flexible and free back to work support.  Their employment support programme can help you prepare your CV, develop your interview technique, build your skills to help you find the right job, improve your confidence through training and one-to-one support and identify training opportunities.
