In Cheshire West and Chester, we have worked closely with the local authority to develop two specialist support projects. The services recognise the difficulties some community groups experience in accessing services.We have established a track record for delivering services to young people. Funded by Cheshire Supporting People, we work in partnership with Weaver Vale Housing Trust to provide shared supported housing to young people at risk. We also provide a floating support service to young people at risk. This support can be critical in the young people’s transition to independence and in dealing with the issues which put them at risk whether that be a relationship breakdown, abuse or some other issue.
As well as working with young people in Cheshire, we also provide support to homeless families and accommodation to homeless households as part of a partnership arrangement with Cheshire West and Chester Council. The association makes provision of temporary accommodation for homeless people to enable the Council to meet its statutory duty to provide interim accommodation and temporary accommodation to individuals who have presented as homeless.
